New York: 7 hours by plane; London: 45 minutes by plane; Antwerp: 1 hour by high speed train; Rotterdam: 45 minutes by car; Schiphol Airport: 6 minutes by train; Museumplein/Concertgebouw: 10 minutes by tram; Amstelscheg: 10 minutes by bike.

Everything and everyone is within easy reach of Zuidas! Station Zuid is already well served by mainline trains, the metro light railway, trams and buses. Before long it will also be part of the European High-Speed Link rail system and a stop on the Noord/Zuid metro line. The A10 motorway is close at hand. Schiphol Airport is just six minutes by train from Station Zuid and there are no fewer than ten trains every hour. And (by Amsterdam standards) there is ample parking space, with 7 places per 1,000 m².

Station Zuid as transport hub
Station Zuid is already very familiar to everyone who lives and works in Amsterdam. It offers direct connections to a growing number of domestic and international destinations. By 2020, the number of trains pulling into Station Zuid could well have increased five-fold. This calls for the number of tracks to be doubled and the station itself to be expanded to six platforms. It will then be one of the five busiest stations in the country, with some 275,000 passenger movements every day. Station Zuid will become an important transport hub and interchange. Its bus station will have sixteen bays.

Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians
The A10 is soon to have four lanes in each direction. Almost all buildings in Zuidas will have their own underground car park. Office buildings within 800 metres of the station will have one parking space per 250 m², while those more than 800 metres away will have one space per 125 m². Every residential unit will have 1.25 parking spaces.

Cyclists can store their bicycles out of sight in the conveniently located facility on Zuidplein, which has a moving walkway to provide easy access. The main cycling routes through the Zuidas district are the Parnassusweg/Buitenveldertselaan and Beethovenstraat (north to south) and Prinses Irenestraat/Fred. Roeskestraat (east to west).

For pedestrians there is to be a new route from Station Zuid, through Mahler4 to the VU University campus, much of which will pass alongside the planned De Boelegracht canal. It has been calculated that some 70% of all transport movements through Zuidas will rely on public transport or the 'slow-moving' modalities, i.e. by bike or on foot. Only the remaining 30% will be by motorized vehicle.
